
Magdalena Lucia Puschnig was born in Vienna. She started playing the oboe at the Music School with Prof. Peter Mayrhofer and continued her studies in Oboe Performance (oboe and cor anglais) with Univ.-Prof. Harald Hörth at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, where she graduated successfully in 2018. In addition to that, the young soprano also completed her studies in Music Education for Voice (BA and MA) with Univ.-Prof. Ruth Gabrielli-Kutrowatz also with destinction in 2021. She subsequently deepened her studies by participating in the Postgraduate Programme in Chamber Music with Univ.-Prof. Gottfried Pokorny.
She entered numerous masterclasses and is a 1st prize-winner of various competitions.Playing chamber music has been an important part of her musical life since the beginning.Already during her studies, she performed in various formations and ensembles, e.g. atthe Salzburg Festival. Concert tours led her already through Europe, to the near and far East, to North Africa and to the USA.
Magdalena Lucia Puschnig plays regularly with many well-known and famous Viennese orchestras, such as the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Vienna State Opera, the Wiener Symphoniker, the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Wiener Staatsoper Stage Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Vienna Volksoper and the Vienna Court Music Ensemble. Her repertoire reaches from Baroque music to contemporary music, which is an important part of her musical activities.
As a singer, she is mostly active as a soloist or with vocal ensembles. Her repertory for voice is also very broadly diversified and includes the classical pieces from Opera, Songs and Oratorio as well as Viennese Songs, Operetta, Musical and first performances of contemporary music.
