Peter Mayer - guitar
Peter Mayer is an Austrian guitarist, composer, and farmer. Mayer's music draws from Austrian folk, Balkan, classical, and experimental music styles. He has performed at venues throughout the world, including Centre Pompidou in Paris, and Vienna's Odeon Theatre, Gitarrefestival Bad Aibling, Konzerthaus Wien, Festival Interncional de Ushuaia and many others. His first solo album "Freakpop" was released in 2007 on Acoustic Music Records - Germany. His second solo album, "Home", was released in October of last year. Mayer’s performances are earnest, unpredictable, and imbued with farm metaphors.
Peter Mayer was born in Austria in 1986. He studied classical guitar at the Bruckner-Universität Linz and guitar world music at the Hochschule für Musik in Dresden. In 2009 he received his masters-degree in performance and composition from the California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles.
